Nick Leggatt: Skipper and race sailor from Cape Town. Nick is our skipper and captain to bring Zita to the Caribbean. Nick has menz stories to tell from is trips around the world and it is lots of fun to listen to him, learn about sailing and discuss many different topics. He has an impressing curriculum: Five times world speed sailing records. Three times sailing around the globe. More than 50 times crossing the Atlantic. Sailing expeditions in the Artic and Antartica. Overland trips such as driving a Landrover from Cape Town to Noway and through the Australian outback. Nature photographer. Enjoys hiking, camping, outdoors, history and sailing obviously.

Ron Kerr: Sailor, triathlete and lawyer from Nashville. Ron decided to join us sailing across the South Atlantic as the next adventure after a Channel swim crossing and multiple triathlons including Ironmans. Ron has been sailing since a kid in the Chesapeake bay and continued sailing after moving to Florida. Ron has skippered his family boat, a 50 feet Irwin, across the Gulf Stream many times with family and friends and has spent a lot of sailing time in the Caribbean. Enjoys family, sports, history and sailing obviously.

Melf Paulsen: Melf works as a Research Engineer at GEOMAR within the inovation platform SOOP (Shaping an Ocean of Possibilities). He‘s outfitting the boat with a set of sensors to measure surface ocean pCO2, dissolved oxygen as well as temperature and salinity. He‘s only joining trip for a couple of days, going from Mossel Bay to Cape Town to setup and test the equipment, but is enjoying every minute of it.
